The course “Appellate Intervention and Revision” is the fifth course organised by the Judicial Academy this year after other courses such as “Company Law” on 23 & 24 February 2013, “The Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012: The Role of the Court” on 15 & 16 March 2013, “How To Deal With Cases Under 39B of The Dangerous Drugs Act 1952” on 20 & 21 April 2013 and “Islamic Finance Workshop Series for Judges: Managing Islamic Banking Cases” on 28 & 29 June 2013.
A total of 14 participants attended this course. They were made up of 11 High Court judges and 3 Judicial Commissioners. The facilitators were The Rt. Hon. Tan Sri Md. Raus bin Sharif, President of the Court of Appeal and The Hon. Datuk Zaharah binti Ibrahim, Judge of the Court of Appeal
This course was divided into 6 sessions. In each session, groups of 4 persons presented their respective topics of dicsussion as pre-determined by the facilitators. The time given for each presentation and ensuing discussion was between 1-2 hours. The topics for each module and group are as follows:
