Program “Lectures on Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952” on 28 May 2016 is the fifth program organized by the Judicial Academy in 2016 after following courses:

(i)“Judge Craft and Judgment Writing” on 19-21 January 2016;

(ii)“How to Read Statute” on 19 March 2016;

(iii)“Case Management in Civil Cases” on 26 and 27 March 2016; and

(iv)“Appeal and Sentencing” on 22 and 23 April 2016.

Participants consist of:

(i)Judge of the High Court - 13 participants; and
(ii)Commissioner of Justice - 19 participants.

While, the speakers are made up of:

(i)	YAA Tan Sri Md Raus bin Sharif President of the Court of Appeal;
(ii)	YA Tan Sri Ahmad bin Haji Maarop Federal Court judge; and
(iii)	YA Dato' Azahar bin Mohamed Federal Court Judge.

The program is held in the form of lectures. 3 lectures were included in this program. Titles and speakers in sequence program are as follows:

(i)“Duty of Trial Judge at the End of Case for Prosecution”

(ii)“Break in the Chain of Evidence and Section 114 (g) of the Evidence Act 1950 [Act 56]”

(iii)“Duty of Trial Judge at the Conclusion of the Trial”
By: YA Tan Sri Ahmad bin Haji Maarop

Question and answer session was held after the three speeches lectures were delivered.

The course lasts for half a day which has been implemented smoothly and got excellent ratings among participants.
