Criminal Law: Evidence and Procedure 22-23 October 2016

Judicial Academy has organized the course “Criminal Law: Evidence and Procedure” on 22-23 October 2016 in Putrajaya. This course is a new course organized by the Judicial Academy.

A total of 15 participants attended the course, which consists of three High Court Judges and 12 Judicial Commissioners. The facilitators of the course is YA Tan Sri Ahmad bin Haji Maarop and YA Tan Sri Azahar Mohamed, Judges of the Federal Court and also YA Dato' Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, Judge of the Court of Appeal.

The course was divided into two sessions. In the first session, 12 participants presented topics of discussion as specified by the facilitators in advance relating to criminal cases involving the provisions of the Evidence Act 1950 (Act 56), the Criminal Procedure Code (Act 593) and the Courts of Judicature Act 1964 (Act 91).

In the second session, participants were divided into four groups of workshops. Each group was given four similar tasks. Participants are required to provide the results of those tasks to be presented and discussed.
