The “CACJ Workshop on New Frontiers of Judicial Case Management and Best Practices” was held on 11th June 2024 (Monday) at the Gateway B Hall, Sama-Sama Hotel, KLIA. The programme aimed to collectively address the challenges encountered and strategize the way forward regarding Case Management.
A total of 29 participants from Malaysia have attended this programme, which consists of 17 High Court judges and 12 Judicial Commissioners, in addition to the presence of participants from ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines and Thailand.
This one-day programme has been divided into four lecture sessions with one allotted for each session for the first, second and third sessions, while two hours for the fourth session. The first session of the lecture namely “Pre-Trial and Post-Trial Case Management in Commercial and Civil Cases” was delivered by The Honourable Dato’ Sri Hasnah binti Dato' Mohammed Hashim, Federal Court Judge cum the Chairman of the Training Committee of Judicial Academy Malaysia; and The Honourable Datuk Vazeer Alam bin Mydin Meera, Federal Court Judge. For the second session, a lecture namely “Case Management in Criminal Cases” was delivered by The Honourable Dato’ Nordin bin Hassan, Federal Court Judge. The Honourable Dato’ Sri Hasnah binti Dato' Mohammed Hashim once again delivered her lecture on “Appellate Case Management” in the third session. Afterwards, The Honourable Dato’ Lim Chong Fong, Judge of the Court of Appeal; and The Honourable Dato’ Ahmad Fairuz bin Zainol Abidin, High Court Judge delivered a lecture about “The Future of Case Management in Litigation” in the fourth session.
