The 5th Meeting of Judicial Appointments Commission for year 2024 was held on 27th May 2024 at Kota Bharu Court Complex, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Among the tentative of this meeting were the Statistics Presentation of the Kota Bharu High Court by The Honourable Dato’ Azmi bin Abdullah, High Court Judge of Kota Bharu, and Statistics Presentation of Kota Bharu Subordinate Court by YBrs. Tuan Dazuki bin Ali, Director of the Subordinate Courts of Kota Bharu. The presentations were conducted to monitor the performance of the Kota Bharu High Courts and Subordinate Courts to improve quality, productivity and service delivery.

In addition to the meeting, members of the commission were involved in a working visit to Istana Jahar, Kota Bharu. This visit was led by the Right Honourable Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, Chief Justice of the Federal Court, Malaysia. This visit aimed to expose the history of the sultanate which is a symbol of unique cultural and historical heritage from the aspect of the Malay community of Kelantan the Members of the Commission.

In the afternoon, The Outreach Programme in the state of Kelantan began with a visit to the Asni Batik and Songket Centre located at Jalan Pantai Cahaya Bulan, Kota Bharu. The purpose of this visit was to give exposure to the importance of batik industries to the economy of the local population. The programme continued with the involvement of the members of the commission who were taken to the Pasir Belanda Resort which was the location to demonstrate kite making, top traditional games as well as the show of Seni Kelingkan Emas. These activities were introduce to the members of the commission to learn about the conservation of traditional values of cultural heritage and local identity in providing benefits in learning and social development.
