The Malaysian government has implemented a secure communication platform through software within the Government Secured Communication (GSC) Project for civil servants. This initiative aims to protect official confidential information, ensure its retention within the country, and guarantee the security of the devices used. This effort emphasizes the protection of sensitive government data from cyber threats.
The GSC Project is owned by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) is responsible for coordinating its implementation across all Ministries and their respective Agencies. The government has subscribed to four (4) types of BlackBerry software, procuring software license subscriptions and support services from November 16, 2023, to November 16, 2028.
